Hawick tennis talent Harris Brogan has netted £300 from the Trust

Harris is hoping 2013 is just as successful as last year, when he claimed Borders and South of Scotland titles in his age group, and featured in the top 50 in the UK and reached the ranking of No 2 in Scotland. Harris only began in the sport through chance, after his granddad bought him a tennis racquet to stop the eczema sufferer scratching his skin. Harris has already played alongside US Open champion Andy Murray during a training camp at Craiglockhart in November. David Boland, chairman of the trust, said: "We hope the financial assistance helps Harris continue to enjoy and improve at his chosen sport." Promising sporting talent from across the Borders can now apply for assistance from the Rowan Boland Memorial Trust – visit www.rowanbolandmemorialtrust.co.uk
