Alice Haining awarded £4,000

Alice HainingAlice Haining was awarded £4,000.00 at a recent meeting of the Rowan Boland Memorial Trust. The Grant is a four-year legacy to help Alice with her expenses while she aspires to achieve her dream of competing in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janiero.

Her event is Canoe Slalom and she has recently completed a rigorous winter training programme. She is in great shape as she starts the new season's competitions.

During 2012 Alice aims to compete in 15 events, including 3 Olympic Selection Races and 9 GB Selection Races ranging from U18 to Senior level. The annual cost of training and competing at this high level is exorbitant. Alice is a dedicated young athlete with a remarkable talent and the Rowan Boland Memorial Trust is proud to support her on her journey.
