Three more young sports stars receive grants

Grant RecipientsLocal runner Charlie Wilson, cricketer Josh Irvine and football player Morgan Turner, who all stay in the Borders town of Galashiels, have been awarded a share of an £800 grant from the Rowan Boland Memorial Trust.

David Boland said: "It gives us all a sense of achievement to give money to these young athletes to help them progress in their chosen careers".

Sixteen-year-old Charlie trains with Tweed AC and competed in the Scottish Indoor Championships in Glasgow last month. Josh, also aged 16, plays cricket for Gala and has represented his country at under 15 level. And Morgan, who is only 12, plays for Boroughmuir girls team and has had trials with the south east Scotland under 15 age group.
