The grant has helped Tara pay for travel costs and squad training, while the money awarded to younger sibling Robyn has allowed her to attend a series of national tennis competitions and regional training sessions.
With no indoor facility in the Borders, Tara and Robyn travel to Craiglockhart inEdinburgh to train in winter.
Tara scooped a Senior Border Confined treble in June by winning the women’s singles and doubles titles and the mixed doubles crown, while Robyn is seen as equally talented.
The Rowan Boland Memorial Trust provides grants to talented young sportspeople in the Scottish Borders.
It was founded following the death of Galashiels nine year old Rowan Boland in 2010, who loved various sports.
